CYBERSECURITY AND RISK EXPOSURE

How secure is your home or business cybersecurity today?  A recent survey suggests that 60 percent of company’s are in a state of concern.  Approximately 49 percent of the survey involve residential respondents who are not even aware about the state of their home security and don’t see the matter as a priority.

Most cyber risks that internet users face today involve devices such as, smartphones, tablets, workstations, desktop and laptop computers; then you have the least evident (and rapidly-evolving) embedded devices known as Internet of Things (IoT).  These are wearable smart devices, smart appliances, IP cameras, and smart lights; all of which could be leaking your personal data, or the most extreme, your most private activities to a bad actor.

Cybersecurity professionals categorized the issue as “endpoint security’ and have been raising the alarm for quite some time.  Endpoint security, aka, endpoint protection refers to securing devices from cybersecurity threats (e.g., cybercriminals) who may wish to cause harm or profit on data they wish to exploit.

An acceptable course of action for businesses and residential users looking for some assurance is by hiring an experienced cyber professional to perform vulnerability testing, and if needed, mitigate the risk to an acceptable level.
